MAT What’s It All About?

This series meets Wednesdays (weekly) from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm AKST.

  1. Increase knowledge and comfort to support patients eligible for considering Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) as a part of their treatment as well as those who decide to include MAT in their treatment.
  2. Reduce stigma regarding MAT for mental health and substance abuse counseling and case management professionals who participate in the ECHO.
  3. Provide non-prescribing providers with tools/skills to discuss MAT with clients and other team members.

  1. Communicate that MAT is an evidence-based intervention that improves outcomes for individuals with substance use disorders.
  2. Describe how MAT works at neurophysiological, psychological, and social levels.
  3. Address misconceptions about MAT.
  4. Describe how to support patients who are eligible for considering MAT as well as those who decide to include MAT in their treatment.
  5. Describe how to be an active contributor on a team for clients who are eligible for considering MAT as well as those who decide to include MAT in their treatment.
