Autism: Core Concepts for Primary Care, Part 2

This series meets Wednesdays (weekly) from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm MT. 



This series supports providers in the screening, diagnosis and management of patients with an autism spectrum disorder and related developmental delays. See below for topics covered in each session. Resources and referral information will be shared throughout the series.

Learning Case Conference sessions include a brief didactic presentation by an expert and discussion of participant-submitted cases. Participants are highly encouraged to submit de-identified patient cases for group discussion and expert consultation.

CME: This ECHO Colorado series will be reviewed and acceptable for up to 6.0 credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity (1.0 credit per session).


  1. Discuss ASD diagnostic criteria for ASD across the ages.
  2. Evaluate common behavioral problems in children with autism spectrum disorder and associated developmental disabilities.
  3. Implement common behavioral management strategies for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities.
  4. Manage common challenges (anxiety, sleep, ADHD) faced by children with autism spectrum disorder and associated developmental disabilities. 
  5. Manage medications used with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated developmental disabilities.
